Welcome. I am Rev. John A. Harrison—an author, minister, and researcher dedicated to exploring the intersection of early American history, Christian revival, and the enduring power of authentic faith.
My life’s work centers on a vital truth: the difference between knowing about God and truly knowing Him. Through historical writing, ministry outreach, and teaching, my mission is to equip believers, encourage seekers, and call hearts back to the transformative power of the Gospel.
The Journey & Historical Research
My passion for writing and research grew from a deep fascination with early American history, colonial maritime expeditions, and the spiritual currents that forged a nation. In studying the lives of founders, signers of the Declaration of Independence, and frontier revivalists, I discovered that the American experiment was shaped not merely by political philosophy, but by a profound theological tension between the Spirit of Life and the Shell of Institution.
This research culminated in my book, We The People: The Great Awakening, published by Barnes & Noble Press. The work traces the history of Christian revival from ancient Judea through the Protestant Reformation and into the four Great Awakenings that redefined the American soul.
Ministry & Core Convictions
As a minister, my message is simple: faith is not a mere routine of civic duty or church tradition. It is a daily, heart-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.
